Environmental Data Tools

This collection of search engines enables tribal environmental professionals and facility operators to access a wide range of data relating to enforcement and compliance, pollutant releases, environmental justice, etc. Each tool provides some key functions. For example, you can locate a regulated entity using ECHO; review the enforcement and compliance history of a regulated entity using ECHO or OTIS (for Government use only); map a regulated entity's location in context with it's surrounding facilities using TWE or OTIS; assess adverse health or environmental impacts using the Environmental Justice Geographic Assessment Tool.

Check Facility Compliance Online Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) - ECHO provides compliance and enforcement information for approximately 800,000 EPA-regulated facilities nationwide. ECHO includes permit, inspection, violation, enforcement action, and penalty information about facilities regulated under the Clean Air Act (CAA) Stationary Source Program, Clean Water Act (CWA) National Pollutant Elimination Discharge System (NPDES), and/or Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Information is also provided on surrounding demographics when available.

Online Tracking and Information System Online Tracking Information System (OTIS), provides information about facility's enforcement and compliance history, with additional functionality. (For Government use only.)

Environmental Justice in your Community Environmental Justice Geographic Assessment Tool - The Environmental Justice Geographic Assessment Tool provides information relevant to assessing adverse health or environmental impacts, aggregate or cumulative impacts, unique exposure pathways, vulnerable or susceptible populations, or lack of capacity to participate in decision making process among other conditions.

Tribal Information Management System Logo Tribal Windows to the Environment (TWE), identifies and maps the major facilities regulated by, or of environmental interest to, EPA and other federal agencies that lie within the boundaries of a tribe. TWE may be used to launch a wider query and data extraction from Envirofacts, EPA's data warehouse of integrated environmental information.
