Plomondon to Head GSA's Rocky Mountain Region

Washington, DC – The U.S. General Services Administration today announced Leslie L. Plomondon will serve as the Regional Administrator for the agency’s Rocky Mountain Region, effective June 11, 2007.

In making the appointment, GSA Administrator Lurita Doan said, “Leslie brings a wealth of expertise in both the private and public sectors to GSA and we are fortunate to have her become part of the GSA management team.”

As the chief executive for GSA’s Rocky Mountain Region, Ms. Plomondon will oversee a Region responsible for 17.5 million square feet of space in 615 leased and owned buildings that house approximately 49,500 federal employees.  The Region’s fiscal year 2007 revenue is projected at $293 million.   The Rocky Mountain Region includes Colorado, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, and North & South Dakota.    

“It is an honor and privilege to serve in President Bush’s Administration,” said Ms. Plomondon, “and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead GSA’s Rocky Mountain Region.”

Before joining GSA, Ms. Plomondon was appointed by Governor Owens in 1999, and served as the Director of Asia, Africa & the Middle East for the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade.  She was responsible for promoting Colorado exports to these regions, as well as fostering diplomatic relations.   From 1988-89, she worked in central China as a foreign teacher for Princeton University.  

Ms. Plomondon holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Rutgers University, and a master’s degree in International Management from The American Graduate School of International Management, more commonly known as Thunderbird.  She is a Presidential Scholar, recipient of the Women’s Leader of Excellence Award, and is listed in Who’s Who of Young Americans.
