Partnerships at the local level are also important to making the process work. Weatherization work crews provide services to more than 100,000 families every year inside their homes. As a result of this close contact with their clients, weatherization providers are also in a good position to provide other services that bridge the gap between federal, state, and community programs targeting low-income communities.
