New Conservation Stewardship Program

Jackson, MS, August 10, 2009 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will begin continuous sign-up for the new Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) on August 10 in Mississippi.  The first cutoff for ranking purposes is scheduled for Sept. 30, State Conservationist Dr. Homer Wilkes announced today.

Mississippi Grassland Reserve Program Signup Announced

Jackson, MS, May 5, 2009 -  USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) today announced a signup for the Grassland Reserve Program(GRP).  The signup is continuous, but all applications meeting the eligibility requirements that have been submitted by close of business on May 29, 2009, will be ranked and considered for the 2009 funding.

Agriculture Secretary Vilsack Extends Deadline for Floodplain Easement Assistance

Washington, March 26, 2009- Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that USDA is extending the sign-up period - until April 10 - for floodplain easement assistance, a component of the department's Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP).
