NRCS and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sign Agreement

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has signed an agreement with the St. Louis District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE), December 3, at Mark Twain Lake. The mutually beneficial agreement allows NRCS personnel to assist the COE with prescribed burns on public lands.

Missouri State Conservationist Roger A. Hansen was among the U.S. Department of Agriculture employees from across the nation honored for their exemplary service and contributions by Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer during the 61st annual USDA Honor Awards Ceremony on October 22, 2008, in Washington, DC. Hansen was honored for formulating and strengthening a cooperative alliance with the Missouri Department of Conservation and other conservation partners which produced exceptional results in conserving and enhancing Missouri’s natural resources.
