Workforce Investment Act - Solicitation for Grant Applications (SGA) for Community-Based Job Training Grants (SGA/DFA PY 05-11).

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announces the availability of approximately $125 million in grant funds for Community-Based Job Training Grants. Community-Based Job Training Grants will be awarded through a competitive process to support workforce training for high-growth/high-demand industries through the national system of community and technical colleges. The primary purpose of these grants is to build the capacity of community colleges to train workers to develop the skills required to succeed in local or regional: (i) industries and occupations that are expected to experience high-growth and (ii) industries where demand for qualified workers is outstripping the supply. Funds will be awarded to individual community and technical colleges, community college districts, state community college systems, and One-Stop Career Centers to support or engage in a combination of capacity building and training activities for the purpose of building the capacity of community colleges to train for careers in high-growth/high-demand industries in the local and/or regional economies. This Solicitation contains an exception for rural areas and other communities that are educationally underserved due to their lack of access to community or technical colleges.

SCSEP State Application -Program Year 2006 Planning Instructions and Allotments for State Applicants (SGA/DFA PY 05-12).

The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) announces the availability of funds for the annual renewal of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) state grant projects. The SCSEP is authorized under the Title V of the Older Americans Act Amendments of 2000 (OAA Amendments), Pub. L. 106-501, 42 U.S.C. 3056 and implemented under 20 CFR part 641 (April 9, 2004). These projects will promote part-time work-based training opportunities in local communities for unemployed, low-income individuals who are age 55 or older, and will foster increased prospects for their economic self-sufficiency. SCSEP is the only nationwide Federal program that focuses on placing older individuals into community work-based training to be followed by unsubsidized employment. Participants train while providing a wide variety of community services at non-profit community and government agencies.

Notice of Availability of Funds and Solicitation for Grant Applications for High Growth Job Training Initiative Grants for the Advanced Manufacturing Industry (SGA/DFA PY 05-07).

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announces the availability of approximately $10 million in grant funds for new and innovative approaches to meeting the workforce challenges of the advanced manufacturing industry under the President's High Growth Job Training Initiative. ETA defines "advanced manufacturing" as the use of technology or other productivity-enhancing business processes in the manufacturing enterprise and/or value-added supply chain. These advanced manufacturing technologies and processes may be used in a variety of industry sectors.

The U.S. Department of Labor (the Department), Employment and Training Administration (ETA) announces a grant competition for national grantee funding under the Senior Community Service Employment Program ( SCSEP ) authorized under title V of the Older Americans Act Amendments of 2000 (OAA Amendments), Pub. L. 106-501, 42 U.S.C. 3056 and implemented under 20 CFR part 641 ( April 9, 2004 ).

Indian and Native American Employment and Training Programs; Solicitation for Grant Applications and Announcement of Competition Waivers for Program Years 2006 and 2007 (SGA/DFA PY 05-05).

    The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), announces the availability of competitive grant funds to provide employment and training services to Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians under section 166 of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) for Program Years (PY) 2006, and 2007 (July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008). Competition for section 166 grants is conducted every two years, except that the Secretary may waive the requirement for such competition for current grantees that have performed satisfactorily.
