Recreation Fees Make a Difference -- Full Report (.pdf file)

2006

Johnston Ridge Observatory 2005

Protecting and passing on our nation’s heritage is a main focus of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. To accomplish this task, attention is paid to preserving the history of the land by educating people about the ecology and past cultures that lived here.

In 2005 fees were leveraged for partner programs which provided over 3,800 hours in volunteer labor. Gifford Pinchot National Forest provides programs, tours, and maintains trails for over 1,000,000 visitiors each year.
