What are the different types of production approvals?
There are four different types of production approvals:  

• Production certificate. 
• Approved production inspection system.
• Parts manufacturer approval.
• Technical standard order authorization.

Who may apply for a production certificate?
Any person may apply for a production certificate if that person holds, for the product concerned:

• A current type certificate.
• Rights to the benefits of that type certificate under a licensing agreement; or
• A supplemental type certificate

Are FAA production certificates transferable?
No.  FAA production certificates are not transferable.

What is the duration of a production certificate?
The duration of a production certificate is until surrendered, suspended, revoked, or a termination date is otherwise established by the Administrator, or the location of the manufacturing facility is changed.
