SHRP Technology Exchange Conference
October 13-14, 1998, Hagerstown, MD

Designed for highway practitioners and managers, this conference will focus on lessons learned from the SHRP program.

Superpave Binder Testing Workshop
November 2-5, 1998, Reno, NV

Sponsored by the Western Superpave Regional Center, this course covers the details of the Superpave binder testing and characterization procedure. It consists of both classroom discussion and hands-on laboratory work, including use of the dynamic shear rheometer and the pressure aging vessel.

Sixth Annual U.S. Hot Mix Asphalt Conference
November 4-6, 1998, Portland, OR

Sponsored by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), State asphalt associations, and the Asphalt Institute, the conference will focus on the latest products and processes affecting the quality and performance of asphalt pavements. A special session on November 5 will highlight progress in implementing the Superpave system, including on low-volume roads and in base layers.

Superpave Volumetric Mix Design Workshop
November 16-19, 1998, Reno, NV

This workshop covers all aspects of the Superpave volumetric mix design procedures, including the selection of materials and the choice of design aggregate structure. Sponsored by the Western Superpave Regional Center, the hands-on workshop will include use of the Superpave gyratory compactor.

International Conference on Corrosion and Rehabilitation of Reinforced Concrete Structures

Asphalt Mix Design and Analysis Course
December 7-11, 1998, Richmond, CA

This course focuses on asphalt mixture performance testing, including use of the Superpave shear tester and the indirect tensile tester. Superpave volumetric mix design is also summarized. The course includes both classroom discussion and demonstration testing in the laboratory.
