Over the past few decades, the laboratory staff has compiled a large, unique, and valuable collection of publications and articles, technical papers and reports, and other significant documents. The fields covered are varied and include: bridge engineering, aerodynamics, structures, computational fluid dynamics, experimental methods in structural analysis and aerodynamics, wind tunnel experiments, and in general all that pertains to the study of the interaction of large structures with natural winds. Our Reference Library is a unique and very useful resource for engineers and scientists in the field. The Reference Library Database (RLDB) project was initiated with the goal of designing and building a searchable, electronic catalog of these publications and articles that would be made available to the technical community. Thousands of items have been reviewed, abstracted, categorized, and entered into the database. There are dozens of searchable parameters, organized by category, as well as standard keyword, title, and author searches. The RLDB is a stand-alone database application that runs on the Microsoft Windows operating system with Microsoft Access 2000 or Access XP installed on the system. There are no immediate plans for an interactive web-based deployment.
The RLDB is currently in the final development stages. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the software when it is released, please contact us and you will be placed on our distribution list. Go to the Feedback section of this website, and type in your request for the RLDB. The database will be freely distributed on CD-ROM. The RLDB can then be run from the CD-ROM or can be copied to your hard drive for easier use. | |||||||
