- Distributing information about cell phone recycling at the Green Festival, held in Seattle, WA from March 28-29, 2009.
- Implementing measures at the retail store level to increase the number of consumers taking advantage of their cell phone recycling program, as well as educating about the importance of cell phone recycling through newsletters and online information.
Verizon Wireless
- Staff will wear special ribbons at Verizon Wireless' retail stores promoting cell phone recycling while educating their customers and employees about the importance of cell phone recycling through newsletters, online information and store locations.
- Verizon Wireless is collecting no longer needed wireless devices and accessories at the following college locations in Colorado this week.
- April 22: 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. — Colorado State University’s Earth Day Celebration on the Lory Student Center Plaza; and
- April 24: 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. — Colorado School of Mine’s Earth Day Celebration in Kafadar Commons.
- April 22-26: Go Wireless, a premium retailer for Verizon Wireless, will hold a special Earth Day HopeLine phone recycling drive at locations throughout the Southwest:

Electronics Recycling Events
Nokia
- March 23rd until April 22nd: Anyone who brings a phone for recycling at the two Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago will receive two tickets to see the IMAX movie Wild Ocean. The movie is playing at The Museum of Natural History in New York and The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

- Saturday, March 28th at the Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View, CA from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m: The public is invited to drop off any brand of used or outdated electronics for proper and free recycling at this electronics collection event. The first 2,000 participants will receive a voucher for a Sony product valued at $100.
