The "Waste Management Facility Siting Tool" -- is a powerful new web-based tool that provides assistance in siting waste management facilities based on proximity to sensitive locations and potential hazards such as fault lines, flood plains, wetlands, and karst topography. Please note: Use of wetlands data in this tool is currently limited to the state of Pennsylvania, but will be available for other areas in the future.

After choosing your location above, the Waste Management - Facility Siting Application will provide the following:

  • Interactive Map - shows the location of fault lines, flood plains, wetlands, and karst for a selected area, in addition to, EPA regulated facilities, monitoring sites, water bodies, and community demographics.

  • Siting Constraints - provides detailed information for a selected location based on the distance to the closest wetlands, fault zones, flood plains, and karst.
