Fire Management Plans

Every acre of burnable vegetation in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is managed according to a Fire Management Plan (FMP). There are over 630 individual administrative units of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service determined to need a Fire Management Plan. Some have extensive burnable vegetation requiring detailed information on what values need protection from fire and what values need enhancement with fire. Others have no, or little burnable vegetation and either do not require a Fire Management Plan, have been exempted by the Regional Director from fire management planning, or only need a simple plan.

Start by selecting a Region from the menu below.

The individual Fire Management Plans, along with any accompanying documentation are in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format.  The size of the document is also indicated (i.e., 345K).
