Federal Agencies work together to manage wildland fire on public lands across the nation

Working with the US Forest Service in wildland fire management are federal partners with land management responsibilities in the Department of Interior (USDOI), such as the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the National Park Service, and the Fish and Wildlife Service. With these partners, we can share people and equipment and cooperate on the timing of projects, to implement elements of wildland fire use programs.

Forest Service aviation management professionals cooperate with the Department of Interior's Office of Aircraft Safety to ensure we have the safest and most consistent wildland firefighting aviation program.
