Detailed Information about MedXPress

FAA MedXPress is a web application that allows airmen to submit the applicant information (Items 1 through 20) of the FAA Form 8500-8 via the Internet. The only requirement for airmen to participate in FAA MedXPress is a valid e-mail address and the creation of a MedXPress account.

MedXPress is yet another step the FAA is taking to make the AMCD paperless. MedXPress is intended to expedite the processing of an Airman’s request for certification and to shorten the applicant’s office visit with the AME. Airmen participation in MedXPress is strictly voluntary; as a result applicants can choose to submit a MedXPress application or complete the hardcopy 8500-8 form.

The AMCD strongly encourages AMEs to participate in this FAA application. Applicants interested in MedXPress should be directed to the MedXPress website at https://medxpress.faa.gov/.

At this time MedXPress is not available for use by FAA Air Traffic Controllers.
