Explanation of Changes - Basic

a. 3-3-5. BRAKING ACTION ADVISORIES
This change triggers "BRAKING ACTION
ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT" on the ATIS when a
braking action report of "fair," "poor," or "nil" has been
received. This change cancels and incorporates
N JO 7110.471, Braking Action Advisories, effective
June 24, 2007.
b. 3-6-2. IDENTIFICATION
Provides guidance to air traffic personnel on the use of the
ASDE Temporary Track Drop feature. This change cancels
and incorporates N JO 7110.467, Safety Logic Systems
Identification Procedures, effective June 1, 2007.
c. 3-9-9. TAKEOFF CLEARANCE
This change amends the required phraseology for issuing
aircraft departure instructions. This change cancels and
incorporates N JO 7110.473, Takeoff Clearance, effective
July 22, 2007.
d. 5-1-3. RADAR USE
This change makes editorial corrections to
subparagraphs 5-1-3a2(b) and (c), and clarifies that the
requirement in subparagraph (c), to advise pilots when
secondary radar is the only source of radar data, applies to
terminal facilities only. This change cancels and
incorporates N JO 7110.476, Radar Use, effective July 26,
2007.
e. 8-9-3. LONGITUDINAL SEPARATION
This amendment clarifies the longitudinal separation
requirement based on time to 10 minutes between turbojet
aircraft on the same course and 15 minutes for all other
aircraft (non-turbojet or aircraft that are not on the same
course or not continuously diverging) in accordance with
Chapter 8, Offshore/Oceanic Procedures, Section 3,
Longitudinal Separation. This change cancels and
incorporates N JO 7110.472, Longitudinal Separation,
effective June 28, 2007.
