Introduction
In
June, 2002, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation
with many universities and other agencies in the United States and
Canada, began an intensive special study to determine the cause of
the oxygen depletion in Central Lake Erie. This effort has received
Congressional interest and lots of
media coverage. In this photo, Dr. Glenn Warren (right) of
EPA's Great Lakes National Program Office explains water sampling
procedures to Sen. George Voinovich (center) of Ohio aboard EPA's
Research Vessel Lake Guardian.
