An area of disturbed weather, associated with a tropical wave that moved
into the eastern Pacific on 15 July, was first noted near 10N 119W on 20
July. The initial development was slow, with the system becoming Tropical
Depression Four-E on 23 July (Table 1).
Moving westward, the depression was
close to tropical storm strength early on 24 July. The associated convection
became disorganized as the cyclone crossed into the Central Pacific
Hurricane Center (CPHC) area of responsibility later
that day, and the depression dissipated early on 25 July.
