The criminal justice leaders reported their priorities and recommendations to NHTSA officials, including NHTSA Administrator Dr. Jeffrey Runge, at the conclusion of the meeting.  Dr. Runge expressed support of the strategies to improve traffic safety and thanked the participants for their feedback on NHTSA's priorities for impaired driving.  He pledged the deployment of resources where they are most needed, but stressed that the work must be done at the local level.
