SEASONAL CLOSURE NOTICES:
The Chequamegon-Nicolet annual spring closure that prohibits ATV (including motor bikes), horse and mountain bike use on Forest trails will be in effect between March 15 and April 30, 2009. During this same time period, ATVs are prohibited from using all Forest Service jurisdiction roads.

Trails are listed below by name, along with trail distance (total of all loops), the level of difficulty, type of trail (classic or skate technique), date the trail was groomed and/or tracked, current condition, snow base, and driving directions. Please contact Forest Service Offices for maps or any other additional information by mail, fax, or phone.

The majority of the trails are located in fee areas. A daily fee of $5.00 can be paid at trailheads, or an annual permit for $20.00 can be purchased at any local Forest Service Office.

The trails listed on this page are those groomed and maintained by Forest Service personnel.

The Chequamegon-Nicolet has other winter trails offering experiences for snowshoe enthusiasts, mushers, and skijorers. Local Forest Service Offices can provide you with more information, or you can visit our trails & tours section of this website.
