Using continuous measurement, the detailed social, economic, and housing information (including journey-to-work data traditionally collected decennially with the census long-form questionnaire on a sample basis) would be obtained by an ongoing (continuous) monthly survey. The new census would obtain only population and housing unit counts and a few basic characteristics.
