Marine terminal safety issues slated for discussion at OSHA's Maritime Advisory Committee meeting

WASHINGTON -- The Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) will meet May 19-20, 2009, in Anchorage, Alaska, to discuss topics such as speed limits and safety zones in marine terminals and commercial fishing, among other issues.

The 15-person committee advises the Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA on issues relating to occupational safety and health in the maritime industries.

The Shipyard and Longshoring workgroup meetings will be held Tuesday, May 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The full committee meeting will convene Wednesday, May 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The workgroup and committee meetings will be held at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel.
