RCRA and Brownfield Success Stories

Many innovative approaches have been taken at RCRA Facilities. EPA is disseminating information about these approaches by posting success stories for the RCRA community to peruse for ideas, results and lessons learned.

Both the RCRA Brownfield Pilots and the RCRA Targeted Site Efforts will be showcasing approaches at RCRA Brownfields. Summary information on each project can be found in the following documents.

EPA has issued several RCRA Corrective Action Reforms to help streamline the clean-up process and get sites through clean-up to reuse. To showcase innovative approaches and applications of the reforms, EPA has posted several RCRA Showcase pilots and success Stories. While not all apply to RCRA Brownfield sites, many are addressing the same issues that a RCRA Brownfield site may face.

The Brownfields Economic Redevelopment Initiative has been in existence since 1994. Some of their approaches and lessons learned might apply at RCRA Brownfield Sites.
