ALB NEWS / EVENTS: Airport Warns of Fireworks Danger and Penalties The Albany County Airport Authority, Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration are reminding travelers that fireworks of any type are not permitted on aircraft. Southwest Airlines Will Increase Service at Albany International Airport David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority today announced that Southwest Airlines will further expand its service at Albany International Airport with the addition of a non-stop flight from Albany to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fort Lauderdale service will begin on November 2nd.
