FROM: Barbara A. Mullen-Roth Associate Director for Education

SUBJECT: Ethics Satellite Training Broadcast

The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) in coordination with the Government Alliance for Training and Education (GATE) will conduct interactive ethics training via satellite April 30, 1996, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. EDT. The training will focus on seeking employment and post-employment and will fulfill the annual ethics training requirement for any employee who is viewing.

The attached flier should serve as an easy reference for all pertinent details concerning the broadcast. The trouble line where the broadcast originates, 202-745-6323, and the line at the satellite up-link site, 1-800-368-5034, are available only on the day of the broadcast. For other technical or logistical problems before April 30, 1996, contact Mr. Ed Kronholm, 602-730-1388.

The broadcast will originate from Washington, DC, and may be received at any location having down-link facilities. However, if you have employees who are unable to view the broadcast and/or you prefer to use a videotape of the training, contact Ms. Angelique Ewell at OGE, 202-523-5757 ext. 1111 (202-208-8000 ext. 1111 after May 6, 1996), who will provide details for ordering a videotape. Be prepared to tell her the number of videotapes you will need. The cost will range between $5 and $25 per videotape, depending on the total number in the OGE order. Orders must be placed by June 1, 1996.

Following the broadcast, please complete the "Satellite Ethics Training Report Form" attached and forward by June 1, 1996, to OGE (FAX 202-523-1251 before May 6, 202-280-8039 after). GATE and OGE are compiling information concerning the total number of viewers and their locations, and the cost saving associated with distance learning. Please report actual numbers of viewers. Compare the cost of training this year via satellite with previous classroom training and report realistic dollar amounts. Your help with these numbers is appreciated.
