MEMORANDUM

TO: Designated Agency Ethics Officials

FROM: Barbara A. Mullen-Roth Associate Director for Education

SUBJECT: OGE Ethics Training Workshops for 1996

The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has scheduled identical 4-hour ethics training workshops for the following cities:

San Antonio, TX - Mar 12 and 13 Norfolk, VA - Apr 02 and 03 New York, NY - Apr 16 and 17 Chicago, IL - Apr 23 and 24 Seattle, WA - May 14 and 15 New Orleans, LA - May 22 and 23 Salt Lake City, UT - Jun 18 and 19

This year's workshop has been totally revamped and formatted to challenge experienced ethics practitioners with exercises that go beyond mere case studies. If you are new to the Government ethics area this course is NOT for you. However, OGE is in the process of developing an introductory ethics workshop that is expected to debut later this year.

These workshops are free to all agencies. However, advanced registration is required. To register, fax a completed registration form (attached) for the session of your choice to OGE no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled workshop. Registration is handled on a first-come basis and class size is limited to 40 participants per workshop. NO TELEPHONE REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED. Registration forms should be faxed to:

Sheila Powers Conference and Training Coordinator FAX Number: 202-523-1251

OGE will confirm each student's registration by return fax no later than one week prior to the requested workshop.

Because you are our primary means for advertising these workshops, please circulate this memorandum and the attached registration forms among your ethics officials as soon as possible.

Please note that these training workshops are not intended to be used by agencies in fulfilling the annual ethics training requirement.

If you need additional information, you may contact Ms. Powers at 202-523-5757, extension 1104 or Rhonda Curtis at 202-523-5757, extension 1231.
