Mullen-Roth Associate Director for Education SUBJECT: Ethics Workshops in New Orleans, Louisiana The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) will conduct four different ethics training workshops in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 25-26, 1998. Ethics officials are invited to attend any or all of the scheduled workshops. The workshop titles, dates and times are listed below: Gifts From Outside Sources Wed, 03/25/98 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Gifts Between Employees Wed, 03/25/98 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. OGE Form 450 Review Course Thu, 03/26/98 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Misuse of Position Thu, 03/26/98 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Gifts From Outside Sources and Gifts Between Employees workshops are designed to provide general overviews of Subparts B and C of the Standards of Conduct. The OGE Form 450 Review Course is designed for ethics officials who have responsibility for reviewing the OGE Form 450 and advising employees about financial disclosure. The Misuse of Position course provides a broad overview of Subpart G and includes a four-step approach to determine whether proposed actions are prohibited by the misuse subpart. All workshops are offered FREE to each agency. However, advance registration is required. Each person planning to attend MUST register by faxing a completed registration form to OGE by Wednesday, March 18, 1998. Registration will be handled on a first-come basis and each workshop is limited to 40 participants. NO TELEPHONE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Registration forms are attached.
