MEMORANDUM
TO: Designated Agency Ethics Officials, General Counsels,
Inspectors General, and Agency and Department Printing
Officers
FROM: Stephen D. Potts
Director
SUBJECT: Publication of Materials Updating The Informal Advisory
Letters and Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United
States Office of Government Ethics
The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has provided the
Government Printing Office (GPO) with materials to update The
Informal Advisory Letters and Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the
United States Office of Government Ethics. These new materials
include letters and memoranda (guidance) issued by OGE in 1997 and
a new index covering guidance issued from 1990 through 1997. The
actual cost of the materials will not be determined until after the
rider closes. We anticipate that it will not exceed $15.00.
If you wish to ride OGE's order, an SF 1, Printing and Binding
Requisition Form, should be sent to GPO no later than October 16,
1998. Please include with your order the GPO jacket number, 444-
494 and the full title -- 1997 Update of the Informal Advisory
Letters and Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United States
Office of Government Ethics. GPO's address and fax number are:
United States Government Printing Office
Room C830
North Capitol and H Streets, NW.
Washington, DC 20401
Fax Number: 202-512-1260
An instruction sheet will be included in the package of new
materials to assist with their placement in the binders.
If you do not order the new materials by October 16, 1998, you
will not be precluded from purchasing them. We anticipate that
they will be available for purchase -- albeit at a higher price --
from the GPO bookstore and through the Superintendent of Documents.
In addition, the 1997 guidance is currently available for
viewing or downloading on the OGE Web Site at www.usoge.gov.
Unfortunately, the on-line search capability for this guidance is
not available at this time. The guidance will also be included in
the next issue of the Ethics CD-ROM. Ordering information for the
Ethics CD-ROM may be obtained from the OGE Web Site.
