SUBJECT:  Availability of the Informal Advisory Letters and
          Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United States Office
          of Government Ethics for the second half of 1998 


     The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has placed the Informal
Advisory Letters and Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United
States Office of Government Ethics for the second half of 1998 on
the OGE Web site.  These new materials which include letters and
memoranda (guidance) issued by OGE from July 1, 1998, through
December 31, 1998, represent the final installment of the 1998
guidance.  All of the 1998 OGE guidance is now available for
viewing or downloading at www.usoge.gov/opinions/opinlib.html.  The
on-line search capability for the second half of the 1998 guidance
is not available at this time but is expected to be available
shortly.   

     We currently are preparing the 1998 guidance for publication
by the Government Printing Office and will notify you when it is
available for purchase.  If you have any questions, please contact
