Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Invasive Plant Program EIS

The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to begin containing, controlling, or eradicating invasive plant species within the direction found in the Regional Invasive Plant Program EIS, ROD.

A large number of new and existing invasive plant populations on the Forest require analysis to implement new or more effective and cost-efficient treatment actions, including the updated list of herbicides, as analyzed in the Regional Invasive Plant Program EIS. Current inventories indicate that invasive plant infestations are broadly distributed and occupy approximately 25,000 acres on the Forest.

The purpose of this project is to provide a rapid and more comprehensive, up to date approach to the control and eradication of invasive plants on National Forest System lands.
