SUBJECT:     OGE Videotape:  "Integrity in Public Service:  Earning the
             Public's Trust"


     The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has recently completed a
videotape titled "Integrity in Public Service:  Earning the Public's
Trust."  Copies of the videotape (in VHS format) may be ordered through
the National Technical Information Service, 5285 Port Royal Road,
Springfield, Virginia 22161.  Telephone sales desk:  (703) 487-4650.  The
order number for the videotape is PB93-781342.  The cost is $35.00 per
order.  At this time agencies may place their orders for the tape; the
delivery date for the tape will be in early January.

     "Integrity in Public Service:  Earning the Public's Trust" is the
second of a series of training materials and videotapes that OGE intends
to produce over the next few years.  It is intended to update the highly
successful 1988 OGE training videotape "Public Service, Public Trust" to
reflect recent changes in the conflict of interest statutes and
regulations.  The videotape uses a series of vignettes to briefly outline
the statutes and regulations governing employee conduct.  An on-screen
narrator provides commentary on the vignettes to clarify particular
points.  This format allows "Integrity in Public Service:  Earning the
Public's Trust" to be used either with an instructor present or as a
stand-alone training tool.  The total running time of the videotape is
20 minutes; the videotape is suitable for use in training all levels of
executive branch employees.

     In the next few months, we expect to produce another videotape that
will be suitable for use (with an instructor) for annual ethics training
as required by 5 CFR § 2638.704.  We anticipate that it will be available
for distribution in 1993.  We will also be producing three other video-
tapes, each oriented towards a specific area of concern arising under the
conflict of interest statutes and regulations.  We will provide you with
the necessary information for ordering these tapes as soon as each
becomes available.
