Abstract
This technical summary announces the findings of an investigation by the Federal Highway Administration's Nondestructive Evaluation Validation Center (FHWA NDE Center) concerning the reliability of Visual Inspection for highway bridges. Details and results are fully documented in a two-volume final report entitled Reliability of Visual Inspection for Highway Bridges (Publication Nos. FHWA-RD-01-020 and FHWA-RD-01-021)
