Blackfeet Painted Tipi Exhibit

January 20 through December 31, 2009

"Enduring Art, Spiritual Symbol"

This exhibit reveals the ritual and responsibilities associated with acquiring the right to paint or own a Blackfeet painted tipi. The exhibit utilized beautiful serigraphs (silkscreen) images and historic photographs to explain the significance of owning a painted lodge.

Sponsored in part by the LCIC Foundation, LCTHF, and Museum of the Rockies. FREE with regular admission.

Join the Central Montana Astronomy Society from 6:00 to 10:00 pm monthly (during the winter) for a star-gazing experience with telescopes set up for public viewing.

Star Party Extravaganzas are run twice yearly from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Star-gazing through large telescopes set up for public viewing. Indoor activities include portable planetarium, project activities for children and adults, plus a movie or special presenter. FREE

Voices in the ShadowPortrait of Meriwether Lewis.

Meriwether Lewis died under mysterious circumstances 200 years ago this month.  A fictional coroners inquest, set in 1810, will be re-enacted by living history characters to determine the cause of Lewis's death, with the audience acting as jury. Advance reservations required, FREE, 7:00 - 8:00 pm.
