Publications Subcommittee

The Publications Subcommittee (of the National Children’s Study Steering Committee) will review and evaluate all proposed analysis requests, oral/poster presentations, manuscripts, and any other reports that utilize National Children’s Study data. Policies and procedures for publication are still under development by this subcommittee.

Voting membership will consist of Principal Investigators from 10 Vanguard Centers/Study Centers; 1 member from the Program Office, 1 member from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 member from the Environmental Protection Agency; and 1 member from the Coordinating Center. Others from the Coordinating Center may participate on the committee as non-voting members.

Term of service will be three years in length and will be staggered to allow smooth transitions. Each year, three Study Centers will be selected at random to serve the three-year term. Once a Center completes a rotation on the subcommittee, it becomes eligible for a subsequent term after all other Centers have completed a term. Should a Center decline subcommittee membership for a given rotation, a replacement Center will be chosen at random. The declining Center can be chosen again in the next round.

Meetings are held by conference call every two to three months.
