Industry & Economic Analysis

To contribute to the development of sound and informed U.S. international trade policy and to the public debate.

The Commission's industry and economic analysis program consists of analysis conducted at the request of the President, Congress, and the Commission, as well as analysis conducted by staff on issues related to the mission of the Commission. Commission analysis draws heavily upon its industry, sector, and economic expertise and databases. The Commission's analysis is used to contribute to the development of sound and informed U.S. international trade policy and to the public debate on issues relating to U.S. international trade and competitiveness. Commission analysis integrates industry, trade and tariff databases with sectoral and economic expertise and economic models to prepare a wide range of official Commission reports and staff developed articles.
