If one or more of the questions listed in Part 4, Question 2 of Form I-821 apply to you, you must provide an explanation on a separate sheet(s) of paper, and/or additional documentation with your application.
If you do not need to submit supporting documentation with your application, you may file your application electronically during the re-registration period (August 14, 2008, through October 14, 2008). To file your application electronically, select "Register for E-filing" in the upper right corner of this web page, under Related Links. Please note that e-filing is only available for TPS re-registration applications during the open re-registration period.
Applicants must file during the 60-day re-registration period. Failure to apply during the re-registration period without good cause will result in withdrawal of your TPS benefits. DHS strongly encourages applicants to file as early as possible within the re-registration period.
If you were granted TPS by an Immigration Judge or the Board of Immigration Appeals, you must submit evidence of the grant of TPS (such as an order from the Immigration Judge or a BIA decision) with your application. Please be sure to submit your application to the correct address. In addition, when you receive your receipt notice (Form I-797) you will need to send an email to Tpsijgrant.vsc@dhs.gov that includes the following information:
• Your name;
• Your date of birth;
• The receipt number for your re-registration;
• Your A-number; and
• The date you were granted TPS
Please note that the email address provided above is solely for re-registration applicants who were granted TPS by an Immigration Judge or the BIA to notify USCIS of their grant of TPS. It is not for individual case status inquiries. Applicants seeking information about the status of their individual case can check Case Status Online available at the USCIS Web site, or applicants may call the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 (TTY 1-800-767-1833).
If you believe you have good cause for your filing after the end of the re-registration period (October 14, 2008), you may submit your application with a letter explaining your situation to the address listed above. USCIS will consider your explanation and notify you as to whether your application will be accepted for late re-registration.
Please note that filing after the re-registration period closes may result in a delay in processing your TPS re-registration and subsequently gaps in employment authorization. Again, DHS strongly encourages applicants to file as early as possible within the re-registration period.

An applicant for late initial registration must file an application for late registration no later than 60 days after the expiration or termination of the conditions listed in 8 CFR 244.2(f)(2).
Registration for TPS without employment authorization:
If you are only seeking to re-register for TPS and NOT requesting an EAD or applying for an extension of your EAD, you must still file Form I-765, but should NOT check any of the following boxes on this form in response to the question “I am applying for:”
• Permission to accept employment;
• Replacement;
• Renewal of my permission to accept employment.
If you are NOT applying for an EAD and incorrectly check any of these boxes without submitting applicable filing fee(s) with your I-765, the processing of your application may be delayed. No fee is required for the Form I-765 filed as part of TPS registration if employment authorization is not being requested. (Form I-821 has separate fee requirements.)
