SUBJECT:  Availability of the Informal Advisory Letters and
          Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United States Office
          of Government Ethics for the second half of 1999

     The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has placed the Informal
Advisory Letters and Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United
States Office of Government Ethics for the second half of 1999 on
the OGE Web site.  These new materials, which include letters and
memoranda (guidance) issued by OGE from July 1, 1999, through
December 31, 1999, represent the second installment of the 1999
guidance.  The materials also include a letter that was issued on
March 1, 1999, which was not published with the first installment
of guidance for the year.  All of the 1999 guidance is now
available for viewing or downloading at
www.usoge.gov/usoge006.html#opinions.  The on-line search
capability for the second half of the 1999 guidance is not
available at this time but is expected to be available shortly.

     We are currently preparing the 1999 guidance for publication 
by the Government Printing Office and will notify you when it is
available for purchase.
