SUBJECT:  Availability of the Informal Advisory Letters and

          Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United States Office

          of Government Ethics for the first half of 1999



     The Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has placed the Informal

Advisory Letters and Memoranda and Formal Opinions of the United

States Office of Government Ethics for the first half of 1999 on

the OGE Web site.  These new materials which include letters and

memoranda (guidance) issued by OGE from January 1, 1999 through

June 30, 1999, represent the first installment of the 1999

guidance.  The guidance is now available for viewing or downloading

at www.usoge.gov/usoge006.html#opinions.  The on-line search

capability for the first half of the 1999 guidance is not available

at this time but is expected to be available shortly.



     The January through June guidance will not be published by the

Government Printing Office until the guidance for the entire year

has been prepared for publication.  You will be notified when all

of the guidance for 1999 is available for purchase.
