MEMORANDUM
TO: Designated Agency Ethics Officials, General Counsels,
Inspectors General, and Department and Agency Printing
Officers
FROM: Stephen D. Potts
Director
SUBJECT: Publication of The Ethics CD - October 1995 Edition
The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) is pleased to
announce the publication and availability of the second update to
The Ethics CD. This latest edition of The Ethics CD, dated October
1995, contains the latest documents issued by OGE up through
September 30, 1995, including the 1994 OGE advisory opinions,
DAEOgrams, Federal Register Notices, and the new SF 450
confidential financial disclosure software.
The new edition of The Ethics CD is a multimedia version that
includes preview sample video and audio clips from four ethics
videos: The Ethical Choice: Ethics for Special Government
Employees; Public Financial Disclosure: A Closer Look; Guide to the
Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch;
and Integrity in Public Service: Earning the Public's Trust. Each
video lasts three to four minutes and includes complete ordering
and pricing information. Although the CD-ROM is capable of running
on either a DOS or Windows-based personal computer, a Windows-based
PC with a sound card is necessary to view the video clips.
OGE plans to continue publishing six-month updates to The
Ethics CD in April and October of each year. Each new issue
contains all the information from the previous issue, plus whatever
documents OGE has issued since the last update. Also, we hope to
initiate an annual subscription service with the Government
Printing Office (GPO), which should make it easier to get the
updates and decrease their cost.
The Ethics CD, GPO Stock Number: 052-003-01434-3, is only
available by ordering through the GPO, Superintendent of Documents'
order line, 202-512-1800. Orders may also be faxed to 202-512-2250
but ONLY if you pay by Visa, MasterCard, or Purchase Order. Please
do not call OGE to place your orders.
