KENAI: Biologist Contributes to Wolf Management Publication
Alaska Region, January 31, 2008
Print Friendly Version
The Journal of Wildlife Management has accepted for publication a management and conservation article entitled, "The Effects of Breeder Loss on Wolves".  The article can be read in the 2008 Volume 72, Number 1 Journal.  Contributors to the publication include Elizabeth Jozwiak, Wildlife Biologist with Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, along with 18 other co-authors located in Norway, Sweden, Greece, Montana, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Idaho, and Alaska.  The article reports on the potential impacts caused by the loss of territorial breeding wolves when devising plans that aim to balance wolf population goals with human concerns.  Recommendations are made to managers, especially in managing recolonizing wolf populations.
