KENAI: RefugeNets 340 Youth in New Junior Explorer Program
Alaska Region, October 21, 2005
Print Friendly Version

Kenai National Wildlife Refuge had 340 young people between the ages of 4 and 16 complete their new Junior Explorer Program in 2005.  The youth had to complete a worksheet while interacting with Refuge visitor center displays to complete the program.  After completing the worksheet, and presenting it to a staff member, the participant received a button.  The program received high marks from participants, many who traveled from all over the world to visit the Refuge.  In 2006 the Refuge plans to expand the program to include outdoor assignments along an interpretive trail.
