In our continuing effort to improve the accuracy and usability of EDIS, Docket Services has created a Coding Manual to assist users with coding documents on EDIS. The EDIS Coding Manual (click on link) is available for download in PDF format. The purpose of the manual is to standardize the information users input to generate EDIS cover sheets. Uniform coding will make EDIS easier to search and also expedite the process time for documents to be made available to the public on EDIS.
Besides the addition of the coding manual, users will notice some other changes on EDIS. The major changes include changing the area of interest "General Fact Finding" to "Industry and Economic Analysis," as well as additions and deletions of certain document types for each area of interest.
Name changes will go into effect on EDIS on or about July 24, 2008. The new coding manual will also be made available under the Help menu on EDIS on that date.
Please take a moment to review the coding manual before creating an EDIS cover sheet. The manual contains a general information section detailing the data that belongs in each field of the EDIS cover sheet. It also has a chart for each area of interest containing all of the document types, a description of the documents, and information relating to the title of documents and the type of user that can file each document type.
For questions or comments regarding the coding manual or the changes to EDIS, please contact the EDIS helpdesk at 202.205.3347.
Thank you,
