Leasing

The Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) manages a network of refuge and non-refuge real property interests in Alaska through acquisition and maintenance of leases and permits.

Examples of leased or permitted interests commonly acquired in support of Service objectives include but are not limited to:  aircraft tie-down and parking areas, hangars or aircraft maintenance facilities, aircraft refueling sites, floatplane docking and refueling sites, equipment and supply storage areas, radio/transmitter communication sites, visitor centers, and administrative sites.

Acquisition, coordination, maintenance and disposal activities relating to leased or permitted real property interests are processed by the Division of Realty and Natural Resources under the authority of the Regional Director.
