Freedom to Compete Award

The Freedom to Compete Award

The EEOC seeks to showcase, recognize, and reward specific practices and concrete activities that produce results and reflect an abiding commitment to access and inclusion in the workplace. The Freedom to Compete Award recognizes excellence in the implementation of specific equal employment opportunity practices that the Commission believes can be emulated by other employers or organizations.

EEOC Has Postponed the 2008 Freedom to Compete Awards Program

Over the past 3 years, since its inauguration in 2005, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has issued Freedom to Compete Awards to 18 large and small companies, non-profit organizations, universities, hospitals, a city government, a state government, and federal agencies. Given its success, the Commission will be exploring ways to expand and improve the program over the coming year. For this reason, the Commission has postponed the 2008 Freedom to Compete Awards program.

We appreciate those organizations that have already contacted us about the program for this year. We encourage all organizations to check for an announcement about the program around this time next year.
