BUFKIT is a forecast profile visualization and analysis tool kit developed by the staff at the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Buffalo and the Warning Decision Training Branch (WDTB) in Norman, OK. Starting with version 97e, BUFKIT was expanded to make use of additional convective parameters to assist the forecaster with the analysis of non-winter convection. As of January 2002 it is in use in over 150 NWS, Department of Defense, University, Environment Canada, and South Africa Weather Service locations.  BUFKIT is available to anyone who is interested in the analysis of forecast hourly profiles.  If you would like assistance with the installation and operation of this tool, contact Ed Mahoney, the branch chief of WDTB, at ed.mahoney@noaa.gov. He'll be glad to provide assistance getting you up and running.

These files are to be viewed using the latest "Bufkit4 release".
