1. What is The Heart Truth Healthy Action badge?
We’ve built the badge as a “widget”—a shareable application that can contain content like data, images, or photos. By downloading a Healthy Action badge you are spreading The Heart Truth and commitment to heart health with visitors to your page. The widgets can be posted to your blog, social network profiles, or even your desktop. They can also be shared via email or by copying and pasting the HTML code into your Web site.
Each Heart Truth Healthy Action badge features one of five risk factors for heart disease. Choose one or more of the badges to post and share. The lowercase letter i (
) icon will flip the badge over to show your readers other badges from which they can choose.

2. How do you use The Heart Truth Healthy Action badge?
On the right hand side of each badge, you will find a toolbox with the following functions:
“Post,” “Send,” “Bookmark,” and “Embed.”
For each function you will be provided a series of options from which to choose. Click on your preferred function, choose the appropriate option, and follow the prompts.
- “Post” – Choose this function to post the badge to your blog, social media profile or desktop application.
- “Send” – Choose this function to share the badge with others or send to yourself via email.
- “Bookmark” – Choose this function to bookmark the badge on a social bookmarking site or personal directory.
- “Embed” – Choose this function to manually embed the badge on a Web site or blog platform note offered in the “Post” options. Copy and paste the HTML code into the code or your Web site or blog.

3. Privacy: What you should know before using The Heart Truth Healthy Action badge.
When you download and install The Heart Truth Healthy Action badge, NHLBI will be able to track the number of times the badge has been viewed on your Web site. If this is not acceptable, please do not download and install the badge.
