Issuing Federal Passes During Renovations

The Federal Recreational Lands Pass, also known as the America the Beautiful Pass, has three versions, an Annual Pass available to anyone, a Senior Pass for those 62+, and an Access Pass for the disabled. Click here for more information on the America the Beautiful Pass.

The Senior Pass and Access Pass must be obtained directly at a federal site. Regrettably, during the final stages of our renovations, we will be unable to issue these passes. This period will begin in late January, 2009. We will not be able to resume issuing passes until we reopen to the public. This is anticipated in May 2009. You may call 716-884-0095 or check this website for updates.

In the interim, the nearest issuing site is:

Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge

1101 Casey Road

Basom, NY   14013 - 9730

E-mail: iroquois@fws.gov

Phone Number: 585-948-5445

http://www.fws.gov/northeast/iroquois/

Pass-seekers are advised to call before going, because Iroquois NWR has only one person on staff who can issue the passes, so visitors would want to verify that person would be in.

Iroquois NWR is located off exit 48-A of the I-90 thruway between Buffalo and Rochester (south of Medina, NY). It is about a 45 min. drive from Buffalo.

Alternatively, if you plan a trip, you may be able to acquire one at the first fee-charging park you stop at.

The Annual Pass can also be obtained online at:

http://store.usgs.gov/pass/

or by phone by calling

1-888-ASK-USGS, ext. 1
