 World-wide distribution. One of the most abundant Great Lakes crustaceans during the summer with peaks of 2000-142,000per cubic meter. Found in cool, well-oxygenated waters and littoral areas. Length to 0.6mm

Eubosmina coregoni
  One of the most abundant summertime species, only recently observed in the Great Lakes (post-1970) - generally considered less abundant than than Bosmina longirostris except in fall. Found at all depths but prefers warm, epilimnetic water. Length to 0.6mm
