Capacity Building Workshop on Wildlife Management in Northern Mexico
Region 2, February 14, 2006
From February 6 through February 14, 2006, the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office participated in a workshop with the Mexican Federal Government and four Mexican State wildlife agencies.  The purpose of the workshop was to provide the wildlife management fundamentals for receiving the decentralized responsibilities of the Mexican Federal government to newly created Mexican State wildlife agencies.  The workshop was divided into three main sections: 1) Fundamentals of conservation biology; 2) techniques and tools for wildlife management; and 3) legal principles for wildlife management.  The Field Office participated in 12 presentations and was instrumental in the success of the two-week workshop.
