The "Market" section includes helpful instructions on applying for a USGS student or federal job, information on how to respond to KASOCS, and techniques for successful interviewing. This section also includes information on career fairs USGS representatives will be attending, and tips for how to prepare for a career fair.

1. USGS Student Application Tips are provided to make the student application process less confusing. This document covers how to locate positions, understand vacancy announcements, apply for positions which interest you, and know when to expect an answer once you submit your application. This section also provides very detailed information on how to prepare a narrative statement of KASOC's, which is a requirement for many Federal and student positions.
2. Interviewing Techniques provides techniques for successful interviewing from preparation for the interview to follow-up after the interview is complete. A navigation menu is provided at the top of each page in this section so you may move between the interviewing tips quickly.
3. Calendar of USGS Recruitment Events allows you to locate opportunities to meet USGS representatives at recruitment events. The calendar is updated on a continuous basis. If you are a USGS employee who will be attending an event, please send the Date(s), School and/or Event Name, Location, Time(s), and contact name and number for the event to Sarah Griffin.
4. Career Fair Tips gives brief tips to prepare for a career fair in order to help you find a job you'll enjoy.
